The Meaning of Easter! It's ALL about JESUS. Not chocolate bunnies & eggs.

At the age of ten, my daughter still gets excited at the countless rows and pile-ups of chocolate bunnies and eggs in the supermarkets. Every Easter, since she was a toddler, I find myself explaining to her what Easter means to us who are confessing Christians.

“Easter is not about chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs. Easter is All about Jesus!”

Easter is a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus, our LORD, and the victory He gives to those who receive Him. He came to suffer and die to redeem the human race to God. He had the power to lay down His life and the power to take it back again. Yes, JESUS is ALIVE!

Jesus finished the work of restoration during Easter!

Those in Christ are a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our iniquities, our transgressions and our sins have been wiped out by the Blood of the LAMB of GOD – Jesus Christ!

We are forgiven! The debts completely paid off! The devil has nothing of his in us! We are victorious in Christ!

Colossians 2:13-15 (KJV) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Only the SON of GOD could overcome for us! The LAMB of God who takes away the sins of the world.

There is no other savior, no other mediator, no other sacrifice for sin, no other solution, except JESUS CHRIST.

This is what Easter is all about!
